Hey everyone. The PMCA may be lagging on updates of ASY arrivals reports. A reliable documented and photographed martin has been reported in West Des Moines. These early arrivals are not unheard of; so I'm asking all Iowans to keep your eyes open now and be prepared to accommodate your arrivals if cold wet weather is near. Below is the actual ASY male picture at the Purple Martin Lake Resource Area in Polk County. Thanks.
Thanks for posting Dave. The lone male is still here as of 3/26 and is accepting/catching flipped crickets as supplemental food. He should be joined by some additional Martins any day now as more reports are coming in as of yesterday and today. Let's hope the temps moderate for the remainder of March and through April ! Bye for now.
